The scholarships were made possible by the Corporate Tax Credit bill, passed by the 2001 Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Jeb Bush. CTC Scholarships are funded by direct corporate contributions to nonprofit scholarship funding organizations (SFO's) as designated by the state of Florida to receive and disburse CTC funding.
